Exactly what we set out to do, we have planted and grown hundreds of trees on our site and in neighboring areas. Acacia, Mongogo, and Fruit trees are now abundant.

Since 2020, Rain Drops Community Foundation has made reforestation the heart of our work in Zambia. What began as a small community-led planting has grown into a community-wide effort to restore degraded land, protect biodiversity, create sustainable livelihoods, and offset deforestation.

  • Hundreds of trees have been planted across our farm, schools, and community forests.

  • Local partnerships with farmers, schools, and youth groups to ensure trees are nurtured, not just planted.

  • Agroforestry initiatives that combine tree planting with food crops provide both environmental restoration and food security.

But numbers tell only part of the story. Each seedling represents hope for healthier soils, cleaner air, and stronger communities. By restoring forests, we are also restoring opportunities — from shade for schoolyards to income for farmers who cultivate fruit-bearing trees.

Our vision is long-term: trees planted today will grow into tomorrow’s forests. We use biochar to mitigate future deforestation, ensuring future generations inherit a greener, more resilient Zambia.

Healthy Soil, Healthier People

Our garden has become more than places to grow food — they are living classrooms and biodiversity hubs. By integrating composting into every stage of cultivation, we are restoring soil fertility while reducing waste and closing the loop of sustainability.

  • Our garden now supplies fresh vegetables and fruits that directly support the farm and the surrounding community.

  • Biodiversity thrives as native plants, pollinators, and beneficial insects return to healthy ecosystems.

  • Composting programs transform organic waste into nutrient-rich soil, improving crop yields and eliminating dependence on chemical fertilizers.

  • Soil regeneration strengthens resilience against droughts and floods, helping communities adapt to a changing climate.

Each harvest tells a story of resilience. What was once depleted soil now produces nourishment, and what was once waste now fuels abundance. By nurturing biodiversity and restoring soil health, we are not only feeding people today — we are cultivating healthier ecosystems for generations to come as we teach and show the community how to eat healthy without pesticides in their own garden.

Education in Action

Helping the community reforest and live healthier lives.

At Rain Drops Community Foundation, we believe true change begins with the next generation. Since 2020, we’ve partnered with schools across the community to bring environmental education to life — not just in the classroom, but in the schoolyard.

  • Over 500 tree saplings were donated to local schools, creating living laboratories for students.

  • Hands-on learning as children plant, water, and care for trees, turning theory into practice.

  • Schoolyard greening provides shade, cleaner air, and inspiring spaces for play and study.

  • Environmental stewardship instilled early, empowering students to become guardians of Zambia’s future landscapes.

  • Teaching how to make "biochar" as an alternative to charcoal which is a big contributor to deforestation.

Every sapling planted at a school is more than a tree — it’s a lesson in responsibility, a symbol of hope, and a seed of knowledge that will grow alongside the students themselves. Through education in action, we are nurturing not only forests, but future leaders who understand the value of protecting them.

Rain Drops relies on donations from across the world at all times to support our mission and have a lasting impact.

Support our future impact with a donation.
